Answer 1

Hello, 3Coli Here!

Here are your answers:

1. What is a stimulus?

Stimulus is a natural body reaction caused by changes in the environment around or inside the organism. This is a response from the brain.

2. Why does the body respond to stimuli?

The body responds to stimuli, because it needs to protect itself.

3. What are some different types of stimuli?

The two main types of stimuli are external stimuli and internal stimuli. External stimuli are reactions triggered by changes that occur outside of the body, while internal stimuli are reactions triggered by changes inside of the body.

4. What are sensory organs and what type of stimuli do these receptors respond to?

The most commonly used sensory organs include Eyes, Ears, Tongue, Nose, and Skin. Eyes respond to light and motion, because they are used to see. Ears respond to sound, because they hear. The tongue is used to taste, so it senses flavors. The nose is used to smell, so it responds to scents. Finally, the skin is used to feel, so it responds to whatever it feels.

5. What is an explanation of how the information from stimuli is communicated to the brain?

Neuron receptors convert internal and external environments into electrical signals, and then is sent to the brain through nerves.

6. What is a description of the two things that can happen when the brain processes the information from stimuli?

After the brain receives the signal, it will provide a response. One type of response is that the body will physically react to the change. The second type of response is to avoid the change.

Hopefully, this helps! :D

2. The three types of plate interacts include divergent boundaries, convergent boundaries, and transform boundaries.

3. This is the theory that the Earth's crust is separated into plates that move over the Earth's mantle. As stated, they can move in ways such as coming together, spreading apart, and interacting at boundaries all over the planet, which can cause things such as volcanos and earthquakes. Answer:

Explanation:

Three things that anyone can do to prevent this would be

understand myths about working out

look for inexpensive classes in the area

take a physical education course at school

Most barriers to exercise revolve around becoming discouraged/depressed about the results due to having unrealistic and high expectations. Learning about what you can expect realistically from a set routine will greatly increase motivation and prevent such barriers. The same applies to learning which routines and diets work best and all of this can be learned by taking physical education courses or classes near you.

Where do marine creatures store carbon in their bodies? What form is it in?

Answers

the tissues other than blood contain most of the CO2 stored in the body. Over 90 % of this tissue CO2 is stored in bone as carbonate (65, 155).

When they die, their carcasses sink to the seafloor, bringing a lifetime of trapped carbon with them. This is called Deadfall Carbon. On the deep seafloor, it eventually can be buried in sediments and potentially locked away from the atmosphere for millions of years.

compare and contrast evaporation and boiling

so the simple answer would be evaporation is slow and can only occur through the surface of a liquid and it cools it down, while boiling is fast and produces bubbles ( evaporation does not ) and it occurs throughout the liquid and doesn’t cool it down. A similarity between the two would be water vapor is given off
Both the processes of evaporation and boiling result in a change from liquid to vapor.

The chemical colchicine is used in the production of karyotypes. Colchicine prevents spindle fibers from forming during the cell cycle. What is a result of preventing spindle fibers from forming? Answer
A The cell cycle skips G1 phase
B Mitotic division is skipped, and the cell cycle proceeds to cytokinesis.
C Mitotic division stops in metaphase and cannot proceed to anaphase.
D The cell cycle skips S phase and proceeds to G2 phase.

Answers

Answer: the correct answer is C

Explanation:

Preventing the formation of spindle fibers makes the mitotic division stop in metaphase, and thus fail to proceed to anaphase.

Colchicine prevents the polymerization of the microtubule, and thus, prevents the arrangement of the mitotic spindle, which shows the prevalence of another checkpoint in the cell cycle.

• As a result, the activity of the maturation promoting factor remains high, the chromosomes stay condensed, and the nuclear envelope fails to redevelop.

A toxic effect is exerted on the living cells by the colchicine, which usually results in the arrest of the process of mitosis at an eventual stage, generally the metaphase, with the generation of unusual and bizarre nuclear configurations, and thus, resulting in the death of the cell.

Thus, the correct answer is option C.
